By car, Methven is an easy one hour drive from Christchurch City Centre/Airport. Use the Map for precise directions.
Methven Travel operates a scheduled bus service from Christchurch City Centre and Christchurch airport to our door. Bookings are essential. You can email them on info@methventravel.co.nz or check out their

Rental Cars
Rental Cars are a great option, providing independance. Please check that your rental car has chains and that they fit, regardless of 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicles.
Chains can be rented in Methven or on the Mount Hutt Access Road.
Mountain Transport
All shuttles are lodge / hotel door to door pickup and drop-off.
Mount Hutt is half an hour's drive from Methven. If you don't have a car, there are several options for mountain transport :
Mount Hutt Shuttle - The Official Mount Hutt Skibus picks up and drops off at our door twice daily throughout the Winter season. Single use or multi day tickets can be purchased from the driver and bookings are not
required. Prices start at approximately $26 return per adult and $21 return per child. 3 Day passes and Season Passes are also available.
Ride Snow Shuttles offer a smaller and more personal service and bookings are required.
Ski Equipment
Full rental equipment is available right here in Methven or on the mountain itself. Forest Lodge staff can recommend rental retailers.
